For Children of Various Ages: A Catechism
This recently reissued Catechism for Children conveys the principles of the Faith in an insightful but age-appropriate manner, giving children varying tests according to their age and grade while using the same text as the foundation. With the exception of the Dominican Sisters in Post Falls, who have used this book in their educational programme for a while despite it having been created years ago, this book has tragically fallen out of favour.
With Illustrations from Stories, Lessons, and Prayers
This appealing catechism is partially illustrated, and each chapter opens with a tale from the Gospel to help establish the lesson in the teachings and example of Our Lord. The Gospel tale is followed by a review of prior session's homework questions before the lesson begins. Following the lesson, there is a brief reflection on how the catechism lesson relates to the child's life, a brief prayer, a passage from the Gospel of John, and—most excitingly—a connection between the catechism lesson and the Sacred Liturgy of the Church.
Simply put, this Catechism for Children is a wonderful teaching tool that will make teaching the catechism fun for parents, teachers, and kids alike.
